The lawyers within our Commercial Recovery & Insolvency team act for a diverse range of clients including the credit departments of major corporations, banks and other financial institutions nationally. We also act for insolvency practitioners.

The group assists clients in secured and unsecured recovery matters from basic undefended debt recovery claims to complex recovery and insolvency litigation.

Trade Credit

The group assists the credit departments of major corporations in all aspects of trade credit including reviewing terms and conditions of sale, enforcing credit agreements including retention of title and charging clauses and associated guarantees and securities. The group develops recovery procedures and/or quality control measures. It also advises with respect to trade credit insurance.

Equipment Finance

Acting for the leasing divisions of major banks and finance companies in relation to the enforcement of all forms of finance contracts.

Strata Titles

Acting for body corporates and their managers (BCMs) with respect to the recovery of strata levies and in relation to other litigation concerning strata titles.

Insolvency

Acting in all types of administrations and in relation to unfair preference claims, uncommercial transactions and insolvent trading.

The group offers its clients an online, real-time reporting system whereby clients have secure access to their matters and status reports. This is of particular benefit to clients with volume matters. Features of the system include the ability for clients to generate a report from the site on all their current matters.
