Industry Experience
I am the Partner in charge of our Insurance Group in Brisbane. While I have 20 years of experience in Insurance Litigation, I also actively encourage alternative dispute resolutions and have participated in over 400 settlement conferences, mediations and case appraisals.

I have an intimate knowledge of the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 QLD (PIPA), Civil Liability Act 2003 QLD (CLA) and the various Workers' Compensation Acts and how the interaction of these Acts affects indemnity, liability and quantum issues. Since PIPA was introduced in Queensland in 2002 and the CLA in 2003, I have conducted and supervised over 1000 public liability and product liability claims that come within the PIPA framework for insurers.

My experience extends to defence of catastrophic claims, property and economic claims. I have also acted in the defence of asbestos claims for Amaca Pty Ltd, the major defendant in asbestos litigation in Australia for the last 10 years.
